Provide short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies

SHORT CIRCUIT

A short circuit study is performed to determine the symmetrical three-phase and unbalanced fault levels at each system bus. These calculated currents are the basis for evaluating the duty rating of each protective device, the withstand rating of each piece of equipment, and for developing time-current curves.

COORDINATION

A Coordination Study is performed to obtain optimal protective device settings that achieve maximum equipment protection and proper coordination with other devices. Recommendations for improvement are given where deficiencies are found in the protection scheme.

ARC FLASH

The objectives of the arc flash study are to calculate the incident energy levels personnel can be subjected to and provide the recommended levels of personnel protection equipment [PPE]. An Arc Flash Analysis Study calculates the incident arc energy levels available at each study branch location given the available fault current and tripping coordination time interval.
